Joutsen’s down and feathers are acquired from the best European producers, and from this raw material we carefully select the world's best grades for each mixture ratio. The pillows and quilts are filled with down and feathers in mixture ratios of 90/10 and 60/40. The basic pillow types are filled with downy feathers. Also other mixing ratios are available, depending on the availability of raw material. Joutsen down quilts with a 90/10 mixing ratio are top-of-the-line models, featuring high-quality cotton cambric fabrics. These quilts are luxuriously light, breathable, and long-lasting. They are available with cool, medium-warm, warm, and extra-warm ratings. According to a European standard (EN12934)’s specifications, a down quilt must contain at least 60% full down. Another high-quality alternative among the Skandinavia collection’s down quilts is the 60/40 ratio duvet, usually available in medium-warm. The fabrics are tightly knitted cotton. The pillows are classed by ratio: 90/10 (and 70/30) soft, 60/40 medium, and the more basic filling, downy feathers, are used to firm up the pillows.
